Right in the pulsating heart of Dublin’s Temple Bar, where the cobblestones vibrate with history and the air hums with the rhythm of street performers, you’ll find Pi, a pizza haven that’s as iconic as its surroundings. Nestled at 23 Essex Street East, Pi Temple Bar is the kind of place that turns pizza lovers into devout enthusiasts. It’s not just a restaurant; it’s a culinary pilgrimage site where the humble pizza reaches divine status. Walking up to Pi Temple Bar, you’ll notice its sleek, modern exterior subtly standing out amidst the historic backdrop of Temple Bar. It’s a bit like finding a sleek spaceship parked among Viking longboats—there’s an undeniable allure that draws you in. The entrance is understated, a whisper rather than a shout, suggesting that those who know, know. Inside, the ambiance is a delightful mix of chic and cozy. There’s a buzz in the air, the kind that comes from a room full of people having a genuinely great time. The decor is stylishly minimalistic: think industrial lighting, exposed brick walls, and an open kitchen where you can see the pizzaiolos working their magic. The tables are a mix of communal and private, perfect for both lively group outings and intimate dinners. But let’s not waste any more time—onto the main attraction: the pizza. The menu at Pi Temple Bar is a carefully curated ode to pizza perfection. It’s succinct, focused, and filled with options that make your taste buds tingle with anticipation. Each pizza is a masterpiece, crafted with passion and precision, and you can taste the love in every bite. Start your adventure with the Margherita. It’s a classic, and Pi’s version is a revelation. The crust is a perfect balance of crispy and chewy, with those delightful little charred spots that speak to its time in a wood-fired oven. The tomato sauce is rich and tangy, made from the finest San Marzano tomatoes, and the mozzarella is fresh, melting into a gooey blanket of cheesy goodness. A sprinkle of basil and a drizzle of olive oil complete this simple yet sublime creation. For those looking to spice things up, the Diavola is a must-try. This fiery delight features spicy salami that packs a punch, tempered by creamy mozzarella and a robust tomato sauce. It’s the pizza equivalent of a fiery tango, a dance of flavors that leaves you both satisfied and craving more. The addition of a little honey drizzle on top gives it a sweet twist that’s simply irresistible. If you’re feeling adventurous, the Prosciutto and Rocket pizza is a game-changer. It’s a delightful combination of savory and fresh, with thin slices of prosciutto crudo layered over a bed of peppery rocket leaves. The base is lightly brushed with olive oil, and the whole thing is finished off with shavings of Parmesan. It’s a symphony of flavors that feels both decadent and refreshing. Of course, Pi Temple Bar doesn’t just excel in pizzas. Their sides are equally tantalizing. The garlic bread, infused with herbs and oozing with buttery goodness, is the perfect accompaniment to any meal. The salads are crisp and vibrant, offering a refreshing counterpoint to the rich pizzas. And if you’re in the mood for something sweet, the dessert menu features a selection of treats that will make your heart sing. The drinks menu at Pi Temple Bar is designed to complement the food perfectly. They offer a range of craft beers, fine wines, and inventive cocktails. Whether you’re in the mood for a crisp lager, a bold red wine, or a refreshing spritz, you’ll find the perfect drink to enhance your meal.
