This space is a relatively new addition to the streets of Dublin, but its a museum which gets to the core and the heart of ‘Dublin’. Many people in Dublin refer it to as the ‘Peoples’ museum. It’s full of trinkets and treasures donated by ordinary Dublin people making it a fascinating mix of culture and heritage.
The museum mainly focuses on life in the 20th century, with a collection of over 5,000 items. There are different spaces in the museum with a focus on specific themes, for example the visit of President John F. Kennedy, the 1916 Easter Rising (a seminal event in establishing Ireland’s independence), and the band – U2.
The museum has had the heady praise of being ‘the best museum experience in Dublin’, by the Irish Times newspaper no less. The Tripadvisor website names it as the best museum in Ireland, high praise indeed!
