CULTURE NIGHT 2024 – Screening of 10 Italian short movies

Screening in loop of 10 Italian short movies – in collaboration with Italian Short Film Center

Ten short films selected by the Italian Short Film Center from the most particular and representative works made in Italy during 2022-2023.

The short films will be screened in loop from 17:00 to 20:30, in Italian with English subtitles.

IL PANDA MINORE

In the outskirts of Rome, Thomas is stranded in his Panda Young car by the roadside. The car has no intention of moving.

S’INDATTARAIU

by Matteo Pianezzi – 2023, 19′

Mario is a fisherman who has spent his entire life for the sea and for his family. At sixty years old, widowed and destitute, he finds himself in great difficulty: he loves his job, but it is a job he is no longer able to do.

Amidst chores, daily errands, waiting, and meetings, a village boy and a young German tourist strive to find time together during the brief summer holidays.

RADIO PERLA DEL TIRRENO

A mysterious fungus known as Micelliosa HT-21, the top threat to Barolo wine grapes, has been discovered. Realizing that solidarity is the only answer to climate change, the residents of a small Piedmontese village devise a plan to tackle the issue.

Orlanda wants to give her niece a pair of ballet slippers for her dance recital but finding them in the right color proves to be quite a challenge.

IIC participates to Culture Night as part of the EUNIC cluster Dublin and adheres to the “European Culture Trail” initiative. For those visiting European Culture Trail events in person, you can take your “European Culture Trail Passport” (copies available at the IIC) and collect stamps or signatures at each stop. Those passports with the most stamps at the end of the night will be entered into a raffle for the chance to win some wonderful prizes.
