The celebrated Dalkey Lobster Festival is returning to the scenic coastal town of Dalkey in South Dublin from August 24th to 25th, proudly sponsored for the second time by Guinness and Tanqueray. This weekend promises a delightful blend of culinary delights, live music, street performances, and artisan displays, all set before the back-to-school rush.

The festival, a vibrant mix of local seafood, musical performances, cooking demonstrations, and family-friendly activities, is expected to draw large crowds. Across the two days, attendees can indulge in a variety of culinary experiences, enjoy live music, and explore street entertainment and artisan exhibits. While entry to the event is free, it’s recommended to reserve tables at local restaurants in advance.

In addition to the seafood offerings, The Heritage Centre and other venues around town will host various talks. Notable appearances include former Leinster and Ireland rugby star Fergus McFadden, chef Arun Kapil, ‘Arty Baker’ Romain Tessier, and Virgin Media TV chef Maria Harte, among others. These personalities will show their culinary skills and share their insights at the Lobster Village Kitchen.

The RNLI, celebrating 200 years of saving lives at sea, is this year’s charity beneficiary. Events like “Lobsters, Lifesavers and a Sustainable Future” will feature RNLI mascots and members, discussing their critical life-saving work.

Music lovers can look forward to performances by tribute band Mac Fleetwood, The Pop Gods, and several other acts, including Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh. For families, the KidsZone offers a variety of entertainment, including magicians, face-painters, and themed characters like mermaids, pirates, and lobsters.

As the town prepares to serve over 6,000kg of lobster to an anticipated crowd of 10,000, eateries will be ready with new recipes to show off to festival goers. With the town decked out in bunting and the tables set, the Dalkey Lobster Festival is ready to offer a weekend filled with seafood, music, and family fun.
